Making a difference

The Wagaman School Learning Community is dedicated to providing an inclusive, supportive and respectful environment where every individual is encouraged to reach their full potential.

We actively promote a sense of community and belonging. We regularly encourage and involve our parents and the community in decision making and celebratory events.

Our school motto of "Making a Difference" is the driving force behind many innovative and engaging learning opportunities.

Wagaman Primary School is a small urban school located in the northern suburbs of Darwin. We have an enrolment of approximately 300 students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. Approximately 33 per cent of our students have English as a Second Language or Dialect, and approximately 25% of our students are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background.

To meet the needs of the wide range of students, we have initiated and developed a number of innovative  and targeted educational programs. We actively promote a sense of community and belonging through the explicit teaching of our whole school values, agreements and learner assets. These whole school expectations underpin our positive culture.
