At Wagaman we welcome parents to support their child’s education in a variety of ways. There are many opportunities to participate and volunteer to help out in both classrooms and whole school projects like the Mayuma Garden.
School Council meets monthly and becoming a member of it is a great opportunity for parents to have input into the governance of the school. The AGM is held in Feb/March each year so please keep an eye on the newsletter for the specific date. At this meeting school council is formed and executive officers are elected.
We encourage open communication between parents and teachers. Our teachers are always happy to talk with parents about their child. We do ask parents to be mindful however that during lesson time teachers are focused on students and it is difficult for them to engage in conversation. Parents are always welcome to make an appointment to meet with teachers at a mutually convenient time. We utilise a number of methods to communicate with our parents:
School newsletters are sent out every second week and emailed to parents. You can view them online here as well.
Class newsletters are sent out from class teachers in the first two weeks of each term.
Classes use seesaw to show case their learning and share it with parents in real time. Teachers also use it to communicate with parents. You can download the app for both IOS and Android. Teachers will send out a code for you to connect to your child’s seesaw.

Payments for excursions, camps or school contributions can be made in person at our Front Office or online using the details below. If making online payments, please state the child’s name and the item or event you are making a payment towards.
