We extend learning beyond the classroom through rich excursion experiences.

Students at Wagaman Primary School have many opportunities to participate in a variety of excursions across Darwin and Palmerston. These experiences deepen learning, broaden perspectives and connect classroom learning to the real world.
Excursions include attending performances at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and exploring exhibitions at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. Our Year 5 and 6 students also visit Dripstone Secondary College as part of their transition program and participate in sporting events at the Marrara Sporting Complex.
Our school has its own bus, ensuring that students can access a wide range of learning opportunities and community experiences outside the classroom.
We build confidence and resilience through outdoor education experiences.
Every even year, our Year 3 and 4 students attend the Batchelor Outdoor Education Centre as part of their outdoor learning program.
Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of exciting activities, including high ropes, rock climbing, flying fox, orienteering, archery and bird watching. These experiences encourage teamwork, problem solving and connection with the natural environment.
The adventurous challenges offered at Batchelor allow students to demonstrate courage, persistence and determination in a safe and supportive setting. These moments of challenge and achievement help build resilience and confidence that students carry back into the classroom.

We broaden horizons through rich cultural and outdoor learning experiences.
Every odd year, our Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to travel to Katherine for a three-day camp.
During the camp, students engage in a diverse range of cultural learning experiences and visit significant sites including Pine Creek, Adelaide River, Nitmiluk and Cutta Cutta Caves. These experiences help students deepen their understanding of local history, geography and culture while strengthening their appreciation of the natural world.
This camp is a highlight of the Year 5-6 program and an experience that many Wagaman Primary School students look forward to throughout their primary years.
