Music
At Wagaman we have a specialist Music Teacher. Each class has a weekly music lesson. These lessons are used to introduce students to the basic elements of music including beat, rhythm, dynamics and tempo. Children sing, play percussion instruments and experience a range of musical genres. Students in years 3 – 6 may learn the recorder, xylophone, djembe, and ukulele. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the school choir and take instrumental music lessons.

Performing Arts

Students have opportunities to explore the performing arts through our partnership with Corrugated Iron Youth Arts. They also participate in performing arts opportunities through regular class assemblies and whole school performances throughout the year.
There are two choirs at Wagaman. The Junior Choir is open to students in Years 2, 3 and 4. The focus is on building a repertoire of fun songs to perform at school events. The Senior Choir is open to students in Years 5 and 6 and these children form part of the 300 strong choir at the annual Beat Festival performed at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
Visual Arts

Visual Arts is integrated into classroom programs throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to create and explore various art works.
