The wellbeing of all members of our community is a high priority

Wagaman Primary School prides itself on its strong Social and Emotional Learning culture. Social and Emotional Learning is about learning how to manage feelings, manage friendships and solve problems. These skills help students cope with difficulties and promote resilience. Children who have well developed skills in this area find it easier to manage themselves, relate to others, resolve conflict and feel positive about themselves and the world around them.

School Values and Agreements

1

At Wagaman we work towards building a sense of community through our school values of Kindness, Curiosity and Persistence.

Our Agreements are based on the Tribes Teaching and Learning Community process. It is utilised to create positive school and classroom environments, and is an effective way to improve behaviour and learning. Our school agreements are:

  • Attentive Listening
  • Mutual Respect
  • Appreciations
  • Participation
  • Personal Best

Students at Wagaman are supported to honour the agreements in all that they do. They learn collaborative skills and classes hold regular community or yarning circles to support the development of positive classroom communities.
