We provide engaging opportunities for students to learn a musical instrument.

Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 have the opportunity to learn an instrument through lessons delivered by visiting teachers from the NT Music School.
Small-group lessons take place during the school day for half an hour each week. Children can elect to learn guitar, percussion, brass or woodwind instruments, developing skills in technique, performance and musical literacy.

We empower students to create, collaborate and problem solve through digital technologies.

It is an exciting time for the use of digital technologies in education, and at Wagaman Primary School we have integrated technology into every classroom.
Across the school, teachers deliver meaningful programs that equip students with current, transferable skills essential for future success. Students learn to design, code and think computationally through our investment in robotics and digital tools, including the Makey Makey, LEGO EV3, Spheros and Beebots. These hands-on technologies allow students to explore sequencing, algorithms, troubleshooting and creative problem solving.
Students also engage with Media Arts, developing skills in digital storytelling, photography, animation and visual communication. They learn to create and respond to media artworks using a range of digital tools, building creativity and critical thinking.
Wagaman Primary School is committed to providing every student with opportunities to explore digital technologies and media arts in ways that build confidence, curiosity and innovation.
We nurture sustainability through hands-on learning in our community garden.

Our small community garden began as a seedling project in 2016 and has continued to grow. Originally created by several School Council parents and teachers, the garden is now a flourishing hub for our environmental and sustainability programs.
It provides meaningful opportunities for students to engage with real-life projects and problem solving, linking classroom learning to hands-on experiences. The garden features a variety of seasonal edible plants, allowing students to explore concepts such as plant life cycles, ecosystems, nutrition, sustainability and caring for the environment.
We promote active, healthy lifestyles through diverse sporting opportunities.

Wagaman Primary School is a highly active school with large, well-kept grounds that give students plenty of space to play and learn. Our outdoor areas include multi-age playgrounds, a soccer field, a football oval and a basketball court.
Our whole-school fitness program runs on mornings during Terms 2 and 3 and is proudly led by our Year 5-6 students, fostering leadership, teamwork and healthy habits.
Inter- and intra-school sport is held on Friday mornings for students in Years 3 to 6, giving them the opportunity to participate in organised competitions and develop their sporting skills.
We also offer a wide range of after-school sporting options, including AFL and netball teams. Students in Years 3-4 have opportunities to participate in coach-delivered sporting programs funded by the Australian Government’s Sporting Schools grant, with sports including golf, tennis, baseball, tenpin bowling, squash, judo, gymnastics and rugby.
We foster a love of reading through rich library and literature experiences.

Early Years students at Wagaman Primary School participate in weekly Library lessons that focus on developing literacy and information literacy skills. These lessons build early reading behaviours, support comprehension and introduce students to a wide range of quality literature.
Our Library program aims to nurture in all students a genuine love and appreciation of books. Regular borrowing is encouraged across all classes from Transition to Year 6, helping students build reading habits that support their learning, imagination and curiosity.
We build strong community partnerships that support leadership, mentoring and wellbeing.

SEDA, Stars and Clontarf programs provide valuable opportunities for middle and senior school students to engage in mentoring and buddy programs with our students at Wagaman Primary School.
SEDA College students regularly undertake placements at Wagaman Primary and work alongside our Physical Education teacher to deliver sporting workshops and active learning experiences.
The Stars Foundation supports Indigenous girls and the Clontarf Foundation supports Indigenous boys through peer mentoring, relationship-building and positive role modelling. Our students participate in engaging activities with Stars and Clontarf students that help develop self-esteem, confidence, teamwork and life skills.
These partnerships enrich our school community and strengthen outcomes for all students.
