School Captains, House Captains, Learning Commissioners and SRC
Students in our primary years are given the opportunity to take part in leadership.
Year 6 students are given the opportunity to nominate for School Captain. Year 5 students can nominate for Vice-School Captain. Candidates apply in writing and are interviewed by the school's leadership team.
Year 5 and 6 students are given the opportunity to nominate in our House Captain elections. House Captains lead our sporting teams, Sharks and Crocs in sporting events.
Our school's student leadership team also includes the Learning Commission. Our Learning Commissioners are the ‘student voice’ for our school, having input into decision making about learning within the school. At Wagaman Primary School we value student voice as it allows and assists our students to:
- Own their learning and development
- Create a positive climate for learning
Students from Years 3 to 6 also have the opportunity to nominate for our Student Representative Council (SRC). Two students from each class are elected by their peers to represent their class in social and fundraising opportunities.
