We enrich learning through a vibrant and engaging music and dance program.

At Wagaman Primary School, we have a specialist Music Teacher who provides high-quality music instruction for all students. Each class participates in a weekly music lesson where students are introduced to the foundational elements of music, including beat, rhythm, dynamics and tempo. Children sing, play percussion instruments, engage in movement and learn dance routines that build coordination, expression and confidence.
Students in Years 3 to 6 extend their musical skills by learning the recorder, xylophone, djembe and ukulele.
Across the school, students also have opportunities to participate in our school choir and instrumental music lessons, fostering confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation for music.
We celebrate creativity through rich performing arts experiences.

Students at Wagaman Primary School participate in a variety of performing arts opportunities, including regular class assemblies and whole-school performances held throughout the year. These experiences build confidence, collaboration and enjoyment of the arts.
Our school has a Senior Choir for students in Years 5 and 6. Choir members perform as part of a 300-strong ensemble at the annual Beat Festival at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, showcasing their talent on a professional stage.
Students also have access to instrumental music lessons delivered by the NT Music School. These include individual and small group tuition, giving students the opportunity to develop a love of music, musicianship and performance skills being part of our school band.
We inspire creativity through visual arts and rich literary experiences.

Visual Arts is integrated into classroom programs throughout the year, encouraging students to express themselves, experiment with materials and explore creative ideas. Students participate in weekly art lessons with a specialist teacher, allowing them to develop skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and design.
Across the school, our Teacher Librarian enhances visual arts and media arts learning by integrating creative experiences through literature. Students engage with picture books, illustration techniques, storytelling, digital media and visual communication, linking artworks to the texts they explore in the library.
Through these combined classroom, specialist and library experiences, students have rich opportunities to create, respond and connect with the arts in meaningful ways.
